I went and saw the film Milk today about the life of Harvey Milk the first openly gay person to be elected to a political office in the U.S. I highly recommend it, his story and activism are very inspiring and moving. I saw the documentary "The life and times of Harvey Milk" awhile ago and I also recommend that for a more detailed account of the history.
The audience was packed into the theater, but it was the usual Eugene crowd, being mostly white, straight, and hippie liberal, not very many LGBTQ people were there, it was just me and 5 or 6 people laughing at things while the rest of the crowd didn't seem to be catching the historical and gay/queer references.
It started snowing here a few hours ago, there's an inch of snow covering everything, and I can see car tracks and foot prints out in the street. I might be snowed in tomorrow.
